About Melanie

Melanie is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitising Reprocessing) Therapist. With 17 years in counselling and case management, she has been privileged to guide numerous individuals on their journey to mental wellness.

She strongly believes in the importance of ethical practice, self-care, and continuous learning. Her work is not only limited to therapy but also aimed at nurturing a community that values care and empathy. She's grateful for every opportunity that allows her to contribute to someone's healing process and learn from the incredible resilience of the human spirit.

The training lessons she offers are more than just lectures; they are interactive, experiential learning opportunities designed to enhance practical skills and deepen understanding.

 

Having worked extensively in various counselling roles and having trained with world leaders in therapeutic interventions, she brings practical insights to these sessions. Her experience ranged from managing complex cases of trauma and addiction to implementing innovative program development strategies. This breadth of experience allows her to offer real-world scenarios and solutions, making the training both relevant and impactful.

Supervision and Consultancy: Nurturing Professional Excellence

Melanie is deeply invested in nurturing the growth of professionals in the fields of counselling, social work, and mental health. Having worked as a manager and Senior Practice Officer, her approach to supervision is grounded in fostering an environment of trust, open communication, and reflective practice. 

Her teaching roles at the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University have been instrumental in shaping her supervisory and consultancy approaches. Engaging with students and professionals at various stages of their careers has given her a broad perspective on the evolving needs of the mental health field.
